Inspired by the Terlingua Chili Cook-Off in southwest Texas, Larry Lavine had an idea to share his love of the mouth-watering bold spices and smoky flavors of the region. In 1975, Lavine opened Chili’s Hamburger
Grill & Bar in Dallas, Texas. Chili’s served homemade, quality food and beverages in a casual atmosphere.
